Review: Sasameki Koto

Sasameki Koto - what a fun series! The manga is still on-going (and fantastic, I might add!), but the anime was also brilliant, too. The anime was a light-hearted comedy romance, and whilst there were some sad moments (mostly because of Sumika's unrequited love for Kazama) there were always hilarious moments to back them up, i.e. Sumika's daydreams about her and Kazama being married.

Sasameki Koto is about a girl called Sumika Murasame and her unrequited love for her best friend, who is only into 'cute' girls, Kazama Ushio, and the friends around her. Sumika is known as the 'cool' girl in school - she's reserved, tall, unapproachable, and a little agressive - whilst Kazama is mainly just known as 'that girl who is into girls'. They are also friends with a quite openly gay couple, Tomoe and Miyako, as well as another girl called Azusa who has a big crush on Sumika. And, of course, who could forget Akemiya - a boy who cross-dresses as a girl to get Sumika's attention. Oh, and to model in a girls' magazine!

I love this series, though; it's definitely one of my favourites. The anime was one of the best I've ever seen, and there's plenty of material in the manga left for a season two, if people were ever thinking of carrying it on. However in the manga right now, it's actually very sad, and I'm looking forward to seeing how this all unfolds.
The characters in SK are both lovable and memorable to the very end; this is a series you'll want to continue once you've started reading. I personally would recommend this to anyone who loves yuri, because it basically is from start to finish and it's a series that most people would probably really enjoy.

Overall, I would give Sasameki Koto a 10/10 as well. Though this may slip to a 9/10 if they don't get Kazama/Sumika together soon! D:

Let me know your thoughts & opinions people, remember, this is just mine; I don't want to force this on you! I'm interested in your thoughts :)x
